A 2015 product, which will make many fishers anxious to get it for the fishing season coming up in 2016, the Stradic FK has plenty of technologies on hand to make any fishing experience a fun and enjoyable one.

The latest Shimano New Reel featuring the Stradik FK

As mentioned above with the new Stradik FK, Shimano brings its latest technology on this reel while ensuring past success features are still existent. As an example, the Hagane cold forged drive gear combined with the X-Ship provides a smooth, powerful and durable reel. In addition, the sleek G-Free body provides a better weight balance to reduce fatigue in long drags. In the Stradic FK, all the parts have been designed to improve the anglers experience on the water.

Shimano Stradik FK Technologies

As discussed above, the Shimano Stradik FK brings many new technologies into this reel and below we feature some for you:

Shimano-Hagane Body logo

The Hagane body is a metal reel bod with high rigidity. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler’s actions directly into cranking power. It’s efficiency through strength.

Shimano-Hagane Gear logoWith amazing strength and durability, the Hagane gear is at the very heart of this reel. Shimano through the state-of-the-art technology gives you the long lasting smoothness and pleasure that you feel when you first use a reel, over and over again. No cutting work is applied to the teeth of the drive gear. Instead the entire surface is calculated in minute details by special 3D design and then formed by Shimano’s cold forming technology. The result is assured resilience. It’s the fruit of Shimano’s inexhaustible pursuit for durability; the strength and power of metal forged continues to represent the fundamental concept of Shimano reels.

Super Stopper II logo

Super Stopper II: Super Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way roller bearing that eliminates back-play. This provides the angler with instant hook setting power.

Shimano X-Ship logo

X-Ship: X Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintainss precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gear will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefits is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures and allow for longer casts.

Shimano-S_A-RB logo

S A-RB: These bearings have been through the same process as their A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings rotation.

Shimano - CF Aluminum Spool

CF Aluminum Cold Forge Spool: These spools provide increased strength and durability over diecast aluminum or graphite spools.

Shimano Dyna-Balance

Dyna-Balance: This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing, they are able to redistribute the rotor weight to create smooth rotation and eliminate vibrations.

Fluidrive II: Building upon the success of Fluidrive, Fluidrive II features a large master gear polished using a wrapping process increasing the efficiency of the retrieve.

Power Roller II: Line twist arising from repeat casting and retrieving is reduced by as much as 50% on reels equipped with the Power Roller line twist reduction system. Power roller special grooved design assure the lines will be wrapped on the spool to minimize unwanted loops and twists during the casts.

Shimano-Propulsion_Line_Management_SystemPropulsion Line Management System: The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations itn has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming.

S-R Concept: The SR-Concept combines the concept of all Reliance with all aspects of the S Concept: Smooth, Silent and Strong. The Reliance Concept or R-Concept means that dreams in reel designs are now evolving into reality. The result in the use of the new S-R Concept in design is the development of many exciting new features.

AeroWrap II: This two-speed oscillation system layers the line onto the spool in a crisscross pattern that reduces line-to-line friction for longer casts. AeroWrap reels utilizes a patented worm gear design to move the spool upward quickly and downward slowly to wind the line in a precise pattern, reducing friction and giving smoother and longer casting ability.

Shimano Stradic FK Positive Review

Shimano Hagane Body

When determining whether the Shimano Stradik FK is a reel you could use, our response is a definite yes. Seen as the newcomer of a long generation of quality reels, the Shimano Stradik FK brings this modern technology to a reel that has the same look as many of its competitors. The difference is felt as soon as you perform your first cast and as soon as you do your first drag.

Our users of the Shimano Stradik 3000 model all agreed that this spinning reel is light, strong, and smooth as silk. The spools are very evenly set which allows to handle everything from 14 inch specimen to a 46 inch bull redfish without any issues. As for the 5000 model, same rules applied, it was a beautiful reel, with a super smooth operation and very lightweight. The adjustable powerful 6.2:1 gear ratio offers a very fast and smooth line retrieval on a 24lb drag. One other great feature noted by many was the easiness to spool a 10lb. line without any kinks or unwanted loops and twists.

One thing to watch for with the Shimano Stradik FK is the lack of anti-reverse. This prevent from back reeling. This is a increasing trend by manufacturers and it limits the utilization of these reels.

I personally recommend it based on its smoothness, its solid construction from the Hagane technology put in place and the Dyna Balance which eliminates any wobbles during the retrieve and bringing smoothness to your reeling operation.

Feel convinced? Check out the Shimano Stradik FK and get yours on time for the fishing season.
